HOLIDAY PROGRAMS

Thanksgiving

FISH offers a Thanksgiving basket for families and
individuals who qualify under the income guidelines.

       The basket consists of the basic foods traditionally
attributed to a Thanksgiving meal:
    Turkey, stuffing mix potatoes, cranberry sauce, etc.

Christmas

Our Christmas program is limited to families with
children who qualify under the income guidelines. 

We provide a Christmas dinner for the family
and gifts for children up to and including age 15.

 

 

 

Donations

Donations of Holiday food items (Turkeys, stuffing mix, etc)
are needed to supplement the clients Holiday baskets.

We are also in need of gifts for younger children
and teenagers.

        Application Dates & Times       

Applications will begin on October 1, 2009 for both Holidays
The last day to apply will be November 19, 2009

We Will be taking applications:

Mondays Tuesdays Thursdays and Fridays

  10:00 am to 1:00 pm 
      2:00 pm to 4:00 pm  

Wednesdays 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm


Areas Served for Holiday Assistance

New Hartford, Torrington, Harwinton, Litchfield, Goshen, Morris and Bantam

 Applicants who received assistance in 2008 must provide
the following information:
             
       *  Proof of residency                                                     
                                     
    Proof of all household income, including: 
                
        *  4 recent/consecutive pay stubs (2 for biweekly)     
       *  2009 printout from Social Security                          
       *  Pension statement                                                    
        *  Full printout from DSS if on state assistance          
        *  Proof of child support/alimony                                  
        *  Any other income not mentioned                              
        *  Birth certificates and Social Security numbers        
           for children who were not in the household in 2008.
       *  Social Security numbers and proof of residency for
           other adults who were not in the household in 2008.
        

New Holiday Applicants must provide the
following information:

*  Proof of residency                                                                                
*  Social Security numbers for all household members                          
*  Birth certificates for all of the children who reside in the household

Proof of all household income, including:

*  4 recent/consecutive pay stubs (2 if biweekly)
*  2009 printout from Social Security                   
*  Pension statement                                             
*  Full printout from DSS if on state assistance  
*  Proof of child support/alimony                          
*  Any other income not mentioned                      

*  Proof of residency for other Adult household members
